Meet our finalists: Sourav Roy

Name: Sourav Roy

Where do you live? Hyderabad, India

What do you study? Law at NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad

Sourav has been involved in debate at his University. He also enjoys Mooting, which is a kind of a mock court advocacy competition that law students participate in. He hopes to pursue a career in policy-making.

What have you gained from the experience the Challenge so far?

The competition has taught me a very important lesson: the importance of doing a multi- stakeholder analysis in reaching crucial policy decisions is the key to good policy making. Taking one view point doesn’t make a difference. But being a pluralist in thought is important while pondering over critical policy issues.

What are you most looking forward to about participating in the Forum in Budapest?

Meeting people, looking at the things from the perspectives of my fellow participants is the most important thing that I’m looking for. It will be a tremendous experience learning through the experiences and opinions of people from around the world.

What are your personal interests?

Reading and music. I am also quite a follower of football.
