GDPPC Day 5: Grand Finals

The grand finals of the Global Debate and Public Policy Challenge kick off today! Twelve finalists out of 42 participants from 21 countries will compete for five scholarship award prizes each worth $10,000.

The grand finals comprise three debates and extemporaneous speaking. The motions debated were: This House believes that the UNODC has a moral responsibility to support drug legalization; This House would decriminalize all drug consumption; This House would eradicate drug crops as a supply reduction strategy.

The winners of GDPPC 2014 will be announced later this evening.

The Budapest Forum 2014 is the final event of the annual GDPPC programme. GDPPC is jointly organized by the Global Public Policy Institute, the International Debate Education Association, the European Council of Foreign Relations and the Central European University’s School of Public Policy.
